Big Race in Ottawa, Ontario. 5KM

On Saturday May 25 I will be running a race in my Nations capital, Ottawa, Canada. This will be the largest event I have ever competed in. Last year there was over 5000 participants in this race, runners and walkers would make up this massive amount of people to be at a starting line with. The race will take place in the downtown area and is one of races taking place this weekend. There is a 5K, 10K, half and full marathon along with childrens races. For me it was last minute to sign up for this race and so there wasn’t many options to sign up for so I chose the 5KM. I recently set another new pb (personal best) for the 5KM distance of 17 mins and 31 seconds. Through my research of the race from last year the top 40 finishers had a time faster than 18 mins, so I am hopeful that if I run a fast race I could place in the top 50 overall, or if I’m lucky maybe better 🤞
